KS4 Careers Information

At Queen Elizabeth's, we place a strong focus on helping students in KS4 explore their future pathways.  During these important years, students take part in a wide range of careers activities designed to help them discover their interests, develop key skills and make informed decisions about their next steps.

From careers focused form times and guest speaker events, to workplace visits and guidance on post-16 options, we ensure every student has the opportunity to think about their ambitions and learn about the many routes available to them.

Our aim is to give all students the confidence and knowledge they need to make choices that are right for them and to begin building a successful future.

In Year 10, all students are given the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement.  This is a valuable chance for students to spend time in a real workplace, gain first-hand experience of the world of work and develop important skills such as communication, teamwork and responsibility.

Students find placements that match their interests and future career ideas.  Whether it's working in a local business, school or creative industry, work experience helps students understand what employers are looking for and can inspire their future career choices.

The work experience placements are supported by the use of Unifrog which can help students grow their online CV ready for University applications.

In Year 11, all students are offered careers interviews with an independent adviser.  These personalised sessions give students the chance to discuss their interests, strengths and future goals, as well as explore the full range of post-16 options available.

Our indepedent careers advisers provide impartial advice and guidance to help each student make informed decisions about their next steps.  This support ensures that every student leaves Year 11 feeling confident and prepared for the transition into further education or training.
