Common Questions
What is the excess charged for a claim under the insurance policy? There is no excess for the first and any subsequent claims for each device on the policy. Please ready policy wording for full details. There is a claim limit of 2 claims per 12 months to prevent mistreated devices.
Who is the insured party under the AD policy: parents or the school? The school is the insured party to allow us to process the claim on your behalf, and the insurance covers the equipment, identified by serial number. If you leave the school this can be transferred to a personal name but would be subject to an administration fee.
What happens in the event of a claim? As a school, we will normally process the claim on your behalf. There are exceptions to this, for example, during school holidays, where it may be easier for you to make the claim as we have limited staff on site for deliveries and collections during these periods. Where possible and if we are processing the claim for you, then we may be able to provide you with a loan unit for term time on site school use only so your son/daughter is not disadvantaged in any way. Devices purchased outside of the scheme would be your responsibility to claim under any warranty or insurance you may have purchased.
