CompuCover insurance covers the equipment for many perils including screen damage, damage from a fall, liquid damage, theft etc
Protects against repair or replacement costs as a result of theft or accidental damage to the equipment from any sudden or unforeseen cause
It covers the equipment for repair or replacement where the equipment is stolen or is beyond economic repair.
The insurance/warranty cover is conditional upon the device being stored and transported in the supplied protective case which meets policy terms and conditions. Claims/Insurance may be invalid if devices are not suitably protected.
Cover is worldwide, both in and out of classes.
Insurance cover starts on the equipment delivery date to site.
What is the excess charged for a claim under the insurance policy? There is no excess for the first and any subsequent claims for each device on the policy. Please ready policy wording for full details. There is a claim limit of 2 claims per 12 months to prevent mistreated devices.
Who is the insured party under the AD&T policy: parents or the school? The school is the insured party to allow us to process the claim on your behalf, and the insurance covers the equipment, identified by serial number. If you leave the school this can be transferred to a personal name but would be subject to an administration fee.
What happens in the event of a claim? As a school, we will normally process the claim on your behalf. There are exceptions to this, for example, during school holidays, where it may be easier for you to make the claim as we have limited staff on site for deliveries and collections during these periods. Where possible and if we are processing the claim for you, then we may be able to provide you with a loan unit for term time on site school use only so your son/daughter is not disadvantaged in any way. Devices purchased outside of the scheme would be your responsibility to claim under any warranty or insurance you may have purchased.
3 Year warranty
This is provided by our educational supplier on a 3 year repair or graded swap out basis. Devices are sent to the supplier under the warranty assessed for damage and then a repaired or graded replacement device is sent back speeding up the repair process. They are authorised Chromebook repairers and are also one of the authorised repairers for the insurance company.
