SIXTH FORM INDUCTION PROGRAMME
(subject to change)
We invite all Year 11 students, who have been offered a conditional place in our Sixth Form, to attend our 2 day induction programme. The schedule is below. We feel it is important for students to attend Induction for 3 main reasons:
1. It is an opportunity for students from schools other than Queen Elizabeth’s to get to know the school routines, environment, teachers and students prior to September.
2. With the majority of students taking 3 linear subjects, it is vital that they have made the right choice of subjects. During Induction students will experience real A level lessons and be set summer tasks. We hope that this combination will ensure they are happy with the subjects they have chosen and if not, they can make a change as soon as possible in September.
3. Students will be put into their tutor groups and this, along with team building, will give them an opportunity to meet their peers and the current Year 12. Over the two days students will experience real Sixth Form life and we hope that this will allow them to get over the initial transition issues and should mean, for most students, that in September they will feel more comfortable and can “hit the ground running” with their studies.

Students will have study periods, where they will be expected to utilise the Study Room in the H block, or the library in order to carry out the tasks they will have been set.
Students should email email@example.com to say if they are attending or not and also if they would like lunch in the canteen on Thursday. On Friday, if the weather is kind, we ask students to bring in a picnic lunch, and we will provide soft drinks. If students would like to buy their picnic from the canteen, please let us know.
During the Induction Days students may leave the school premises on Thursday during lunchtime, but must sign out in the Sixth Form Office and if a student has no timetabled lessons on Thursday afternoon, they may leave at 13.00 but again must sign out at the Office.
We look forward to welcoming all our prospective students in June.
