Information for university and college admissions teams on the impact of Covid-19

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School closed to all students with the exception of vulnerable and key worker children, on Friday 20th March. It re-opened to all year groups on Thursday 3rd September 2020.

During the period of school closure, remote learning provision was made via Google Classroom, a remote learning platform. This involved a combination of live lessons using Google Meet, videos and the uploading of assignments and other tasks. Students were able to complete and submit work, for assessment, over the Google Classroom platform.

In June and July, face-to-face lessons were provided for Year 12 students; every student had the opportunity to attend school for a day for each of their A Level subjects.

The Year 12 end of year examinations, which usually inform predicted grades and take place in the summer term, were cancelled. Predicted grades tests took place in September 2020 and further exams will take place in December.

By necessity, students have received very little advice on the UCAS application process.
