Sixth Form

Sixth Form

"The sixth form is a strength of the school, with outstanding leadership and management. The needs of students are very well met through the broad range of subjects offered, the extensive opportunities to develop personal skills and the close care and support provided. Students talk with passion about the opportunities they have to develop confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills and they feel fully prepared for their next stage. Students appreciate the guidance provided by their mentors. "Ofsted 2015

Welcome to Queen Elizabeth’s Sixth Form. We do hope that you will consider the wide variety of opportunities that our co-educational sixth form has to offer - the academic elements of which can be seen in the Options Guide (click here to access). We are very proud of our sixth form students and the academic success which they enjoy, as well as the wide range of extra-curricular activities in which they regularly engage, such as acting as school ambassadors, running charity events, creating the annual school pantomime or the work they do as Senior Students of the school (the roles that are available currently can be seen in the Student Board section).

We have over 200 students in our sixth form who are well-supported by a very well-qualified and hard-working teaching staff. The excellent pastoral system which exists in the main school continues into the sixth form. Every student is a member of a form group with a form tutor who ensures that each and every student is fully encouraged to achieve his or her full potential. In the sixth form we run a vertical tutoring system (each form is made up of a mix of Year 12 and 13 students), ensuring that new sixth form students are also supported by Year 13, who have been through the same experiences and can offer help and advice.

We also offer a joint study programme with the Abbey School in Faversham and students can choose to study at both schools in order to access the best combination of subjects for their needs. Please see the Options Guide for further information.

Our main aim at Queen Elizabeth’s is to produce confident and resilient students who are independent and reliable. We try to ensure that each student achieves their academic potential and has a positive plan for life beyond school.

We believe that Queen Elizabeth’s has a welcoming, tolerant and hard-working ethos and whether you want to further your academic career in order to progress to university level, or you want to find the best alternative route to your future, Queen Elizabeth’s is the place for you!
